What is platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?

Are you upset about signs of ageing on your face, dark spots, scars, post-acne marks, hair loss or slowly growing hair? Then PRP is definitely for you. It will help tackle these issues, bringing back your youth and beauty.

PRP is an effective rejuvenation technique based on restoring healthy hair and facial skin using the patient’s own pre-treated platelet-rich plasma.

About the procedure

01

How does PRP work?

During PRP, platelet-rich plasma obtained from the patient’s own blood is used for the injections. Platelets are responsible for new tissue growth and regeneration and boost the production of natural hyaluronic acid and collagen, helping your skin regenerate and rejuvenate.

The treatment reduces wrinkles, plumps up the skin, improves complexion and boosts hair growth and, most importantly, the formation of ‘young’ cells.

02

What are the benefits of PRP?

Maximum safety is the greatest advantage of this technique. The plasma comes from the patient’s own blood so the treatment cannot cause any allergic reactions.

PRP is suitable for all ages and skin types. The treatment is painless and does not require any special preparation. The result can be seen in 4 to 5 days.

03

When is PRP recommended?

GESR Aesthetic Medicine and Beauty Clinic offers PRP for facial skin rejuvenation and the restoration of hair growth. This treatment is recommended for:

  • Stretch marks
  • Scars
  • Various types of acne
  • Acne and post-acne marks
  • Rosacea
  • Dark spots
  • Very dry or sagging skin
  • Hair loss (alopecia)

How is the treatment performed?

After our dermatologist examines the patient’s skin, blood is drawn from the patient’s arm. Then the blood is spun in a special device to separate the plasma. After this, our specialist injects the plasma into the targeted skin areas.

At GESR Clinic, disposable sterile instruments with ultrathin needles are used for PRP, leaving virtually no marks and minimising discomfort. If a patient is more sensitive to pain, local anaesthetic will be used in the target areas of the treatment. One session takes 15 to 45 minutes.
